نفى الاتحاد العراقي لكرة القدم شائعة رفض الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية منح تأشيرات لبعض لاعبي منتخب «أسود الرافدين» استعداداً لخوض منافسات بطولة كأس العالم 2026.
وكانت تقارير إعلامية قد ذكرت أن منتخب العراق يواجه أزمة قبل مشاركته المرتقبة في كأس العالم، بعد غياب دام 40 عاماً، بسبب مزاعم رفض منح تأشيرات دخول لعدد من اللاعبين، من بينهم لاعب النصر حيدر عبد الكريم وإبراهيم بايش ومهند علي وزيد تحسين وعلي الحمادي، دون توضيح الأسباب.
الاتحاد العراقي يحسم الجدل
وأوضح الاتحاد العراقي عبر وكالة الأنباء العراقية، أن جميع أعضاء الوفد، البالغ عددهم 55 شخصاً، حصلوا على الموافقات الرسمية لدخول الولايات المتحدة، دون تسجيل أي حالة رفض.
ويتواجد المنتخب العراقي في المجموعة التاسعة في بطولة كأس العالم 2026، إلى جانب منتخبات فرنسا والنرويج والسنغال.
وتستضيف الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك النسخة القادمة من المونديال خلال الفترة من 11 يونيو إلى 19 يوليو، بمشاركة 48 منتخباً لأول مرة في تاريخ البطولة.
The Iraqi Football Association denied the rumor that the United States of America refused to grant visas to some players of the "Lions of Mesopotamia" team in preparation for the 2026 World Cup.
Media reports had mentioned that the Iraqi team is facing a crisis before its anticipated participation in the World Cup, after a 40-year absence, due to allegations of refusing to grant entry visas to several players, including Al-Nasr player Haider Abdul Karim, Ibrahim Baish, Mohanad Ali, Zaid Tahsin, and Ali Al-Hamadi, without clarifying the reasons.
The Iraqi Association Settles the Controversy
The Iraqi Association clarified through the Iraqi News Agency that all members of the delegation, totaling 55 people, have received official approvals to enter the United States, with no cases of refusal recorded.
The Iraqi team is in Group Nine in the 2026 World Cup, alongside the teams of France, Norway, and Senegal.
The United States, Canada, and Mexico will host the upcoming edition of the World Cup from June 11 to July 19, with the participation of 48 teams for the first time in the tournament's history.
